Two fashion shows featuring back to school fashion trends for students

ORLANDO, FL – To kick off Tax-Free weekend, The Mall at Millenia will host two complimentary fashion shows that are open to the public on Saturday, August 2nd at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.  The runway shows will highlight the latest Back to School ideas for students ranging in age from 6 to 17 years old.

Both shows are hosted by dynamic radio personality Estee Martin of POWER 95.3 and feature recent graduates of the Maile School as the models. The runway shows will infuse the high-energy Estee is known for in Central Florida and the professionalism Maile School is recognized for within the industry.

Ten participating stores will showcase a range of affordable looks that capture the latest Back to School trends such as 90’s Babe, Retro Rock, A+ Athletic, Urban Glam and Americana-Rama!  Looks may include on-trend fashions like sleek sporty pieces, classic oxfords, origami-inspired jewelry, Fall’s must have hue of pink, bold biker jackets, chatty catchphrase clothing, floral prints, modern plaid and a mash-up of adventurous pattern on pattern styled looks!

This can’t miss experience will showcase fashions readily available in stores throughout The Mall at Millenia and will provide Back to School inspiration for both parents and students as they look to start the new school year. Participating stores include: Bloomingdale’s, Buckle, Caché, GAP, Gymboree, Janie & Jack, Macy’s, Sanrio and Vans.  

In support of A Gift for Teaching, The Mall at Millenia will also be collecting new or gently used items in good condition for donation at the Back to School Fashion Shows. Always needed items include: traditional school supplies, office supplies, books and other learning materials along with items found on A Gift For Teaching’s wish list of most requested items teachers ask for: notebook paper, #2 pencils, 24-pack crayons, construction paper, glue sticks, scissors, compass/protractors, erasers, sharpeners, backpacks, rulers and hygiene items of soap and toothpaste. The community donation will be made following the Fashion Shows.

Florida’s 2014 Sales Tax Holiday will be in effect from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 1st through midnight on Sunday, August 3rd , 2014. The sales tax exemption applies to clothing, footwear and accessories selling for $75 or less per item, school supplies selling for $15 or less per item and personal computers and related accessories selling for $750 or less per item.

The Mall at Millenia is a one-stop shopping solution for busy parents offering the ability to pick up nearly everything on their Back to School lists from clothes to supplies and electronics. On an individual basis, some stores throughout the Mall may also be offering additional sales or discounts during the sales tax holiday weekend.
