5/25/2006

ORLANDO, FL (May 25,2006) – Orlando remains one of the nation’s hottest housing markets with prices increasing year-over-year. Hope remains for Orlando’s next generation to own their dream home in a fun, imaginative community called Playhouse Promenade. This new community, located in The Mall at Millenia’s Grand Court, will open to the public on May 31.

Playhouse Promenade is a planned community consisting of five playhouses each with its own landscaping and interior design. The playhouses will be on public display at no cost from May 31st through June 25th. A private “Block Party” will take place on June 25th from 7 to10 p.m., during which attendees can bid on the playhouse of their choice. In addition to the live auction, the event will include strolling entertainment, food, beverages and summertime fun. Tickets are available for $50 per person. Proceeds benefit Children with Cancer at Florida Hospital.

“Playhouse Promenade will allow bidders to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer,” said Christi Ashby Florida Hospital’s Cancer Board Chair. “Guests will have fun stepping into a fantasy community, but more importantly, this initiative will raise funds that are greatly needed.”

Contributing builders and architects for Playhouse Promenade include Brasfield & Gorrie/Hunton Brady, Centex Construction/Rogers, Lovelock and Fritz, ISSA Homes/Looney Ricks Kiss, and Robins & Morton/HKS Architects, Inc. An additional playhouse was donated by Bovis Lend Lease, Inc./Flad & Associates. The contributing partners include Central Moving and Storage, The Home Depot and Valley Crest Landscape Design. Interior design provided by Crate & Barrel, Discovery Channel and Robb and Stucky.
