FIRST FRIDAY HURRICANE BENEFIT CONCERT
TO SUPPORT KATRINA AND RITA VICTIMS
POSTPONED UNTIL OCTOBER 14TH DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
10/7/2005
ORLANDO, FL (October 7, 2005) – The First Friday Hurricane Concert to benefit The Salvation Army, Second Harvest Food Bank and SPCA of Central Florida has been postponed due to inclement weather, and will take place on Friday, October 14th from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Mall’s main entrance. Guests may contribute items and monetary donations throughout the evening, while enjoying a soulful performance by Sunnie Paxson featuring Monique. Additionally, Second Harvest Food Bank is accepting non-perishable items and SPCA of Central Florida is accepting dry dog and puppy food. A recommended donation of $5 to an organization earns the chance to win one of three $500 Mall at Millenia Gift Cards. One winner will be selected at 8 pm from each organization’s entry forms.
Paxson has composed and performed, but somehow never got around to releasing her own music. Finally deciding it was her time to shine, she began the creation, which is Groove Suite. In 1992, she was voted one of "Los Angeles’ Best Jazz Performers" in Los Angeles Magazine. Her compositions have been heard in movies, on Fox Sports Net, ABC, CBS, NBC, Telemundo and Super Bowl shows.
While enjoying a live performance, guests can purchase food and drinks from Brio Tuscan Grille, McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Blue Martini, plus California Pizza Kitchen. Presented by Smooth Jazz 103.1 WLOQ, Lake Nona Golf & Country Club and Fountain Acura, the event will also feature informal modeling by Lisa Maile Image Modeling and Acting highlighting fashions from the Center’s leading retailers.
