THE MALL AT MILLENIA’S HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS WILL BE UNCOMMON

11/1/2005

There’s nothing quite like The Mall at Millenia’s holiday cure: a prescribed amount of magical excitement, plenty of dancing exercise, close contact with friends like Santa, a heavy dose of memories, and a tablespoon of angelic compassion. Guests can enjoy a variety of decidedly uncommon family-oriented events throughout the season. Here’s the line-up:

Friday, November 18, 6-7:30pm -- Santa’s Spectacular Arrival and Tree Lighting. Children of all ages will be delighted by a special effects production show as the Millenia Santa magically appears at 6:45pm. This event will rejuvenate the spirit with an energetic DJ dance party, stage show, and a full cast of strolling performers guaranteed to make the entire family embrace the holiday season. The event brightly culminates with the exciting pyrotechnics-filled illumination of the Millenia Tree. Guests may end the evening by visiting with the Millenia Santa at his “Winter Pavilion” beginning at 7:30pm in Grand Court.

Friday, December 2, 5-8pm -- First Friday. Enjoy the contemporary, big band sounds of local favorite Michael Andrew and Swingerhead performing at the Swinging into the Season First Friday Concert outside of the Mall’s main entrance. Andrew will perform with a nine-piece band in this one-of-a kind holiday show that will leave you breathless. Be sure to get plenty of rest as Andrew was voted “Best Local Entertainer” by Orlando Magazine readers, and is sure to get the crowd dancing.

Friday, November 18 through Christmas Eve, during mall hours -- Photos with the Millenia Santa. The Millenia Santa will be available for visits beginning November 18th at 7:30pm and will close shop at 12noon to prepare for his magical farewell. Guests can purchase a variety of unique treatments including candid photos, sepia hued black-and-whites in an assortment of sizes and CD-Rom images.

Friday, November 18, 12noon-1pm -- Angel Tree and Disney’s Magical Holiday Trees Launch. Guests can make the holidays special for a child in need through The Salvation Army's "Adopt an Angel" program. In addition to the Angel Tree, guests can place bids on three magically themed Disney trees available for silent auction. Both programs will kick off on November 18 with a Ch. 6 live shot at 12 noon. Disney Magical trees culminate on December 12 and Angel Tree on December 18. All trees will be located directly in front of the food court.

Friday, November 25 through Christmas Eve, during select hours -- Holiday music will fill the Center as Steinway Pianos Galleries provide professional musicians to tickle the ivories of grand pianos. Piano performance hours are Monday-Saturday 11am-7pm and Sunday 12 noon - 6pm. In addition you can enjoy the festive music of local school groups as they perform holiday favorites on December 3, 10 and 17 in the Orangerie Cafes.

Saturday, December 24, 3pm -- Santa’s Magical Departure. The season will culminate with a hefty tablespoon of memories and an original farewell at Santa’s Magical Departure on Christmas Eve at 3pm. Children of all ages will be in awe as they see Santa magically transported from Grand Court to The Mall at Millenia roof top for his return trip to the North Pole.
