INTERNATIONAL STREET MURAL ARTIST KELSEY MONTAGUE TO CREATE A VISUAL TRIBUTE AT THE MALL AT MILLENIA IN HONOR OF ORLANDO UNITED DAY


The Mall at Millenia provides an opportunity for the community to express their commitment to global compassion and Acts of Love and Kindness through a custom designed interactive mural


ORLANDO, FL – May 25, 2017 – The Mall at Millenia will host artist Kelsey Montague to create a customized version of her iconic winged mural #WhatLiftsYou beginning Wednesday, June 7th. Montague will craft the mural in remembrance of the 49 lives lost and affirmation of the community’s commitment to survivors and loved ones. The interactive mural is a dedication to the Greater Orlando community and the Acts of Love and Kindness that united us, lifting us together last year.
The unveiling of the mural will take place Friday, June 9th in the Mall’s Grand Court with remarks from City of Orlando District 4 Commissioner Patty Sheehan. Montague’s mural will inspire guests to stand in front of the piece as if they are a part of the creation. The display will be open to the public and available during mall hours through Friday, June 30th. Kelsey Montague’s mural movement has been uniquely crafted in six countries on three continents allowing thousands to share in this positive message.


In solidarity, The Mall at Millenia will turn its distinctive mall lighting rainbow colors and offer #ORLANDOUNITED decals at Concierge for a donation to the Better Together Fund. On Saturday, June 10th, a special community performance by the Orlando Gay Chorus will take place in front of Bloomingdale’s lower level mall entrance at 9am. From 11am to 4pm, OneBlood will be on property for those wishing to donate blood, which played a vital role in the community’s healing last year. Participating merchants will continue their commitment to promote Acts of Love and Kindness through activities leading to Orlando United Day, Monday, June 12th.

Kelsey Montague is an international street artist who believes that art should not be separated from the human experience, but that the human experience should have a hand in creating art itself. Kelsey has painted large-scale, interactive street murals in six countries on three continents. Each piece has provided an opportunity for thousands of people to become living works of art. Participants are invited to step into the artwork, explore what inspires them and post pictures on social media. Brunch features a D.J. Dance Party and Entertainment to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities

ORLANDO, Fla. March 13, 2017 – The Mall at Millenia invites families and friends for a springtime treat at the Bunny Brunch on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Celebrate the arrival of the Bunny from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. in the Orangerie Cafés with entertainment, food, and splendid spring décor. The entire family will enjoy a hoppin’ dance party hosted by D.J. Renee, the Bunny Bunch game hosts, Bunny jumpers on stilts, a Diablo performer and a chance to meet with the Bunny himself during this charismatic event. The event admission fee of $7 per person will be donated in full to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida. Light brunch selections will be provided by Brio Tuscan Grille, Chick-Fil-A, Earls Kitchen + Bar, Firehouse Subs, Haagan-Dazs, Mrs. Fields Cookies, Panera Bread, P.F. Chang’s, Starbucks and The Cheesecake Factory.  

The Bunny will be available for photos at his colorful tea party garden located in the Orangerie Cafés from Saturday, March 25 through Saturday, April 15 during all mall hours. Kick Off the Holiday Season with Santa Claus, Keepsake Photos and a Focus on Giving

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – November 2016 – On Friday, November 4th, The Mall at Millenia will kick off the Holiday season with a community celebration to welcome Santa Claus back to his home away from home in Hollyville. The grand arrival is sure to create lasting memories for adults and children alike, with a variety of festivities taking place at the Mall’s main entrance, but Santa’s Arrival is just the beginning of the Mall’s holiday festivities. The retail center undergoes a festive makeover, turning into a wonderland of decorative grandeur, with a host of holiday events and activities that give back to the community planned throughout the season.

The kickoff celebration begins at 5:30pm on November 4th, and features stilt walkers, magicians, elves, strolling entertainers, and even a sprinkling of “snow.” Admission to the event is complimentary, but a $20 donation per family of four, and $5 per additional guest, is required for food or drink. The entire donation benefits Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.  At 6:45 p.m., Santa’s Spectacular Rooftop Arrival takes place atop the landmark Neiman Marcus store accompanied by a grand fireworks display, as he proclaims the start of the holiday season. A host of Christmas characters join Santa as he makes his way inside to The Mall at Millenia’s holiday village, Hollyville.

One week later, in the spirit of the season, The Salvation Army Angel Tree begins to bloom in the Mall’s Orangerie Café on November 11th (mallatmillenia.com/events/salvation-army-tree). During its stay through Saturday, December 10th, this very special giving tree allows shoppers to “adopt” an Angel from the tree and make a donation that will truly change the holiday of a local child in need.

Photos With Santa

Beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 4th, through 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Santa Claus can be found in his favorite chair greeting children, hearing special wish lists, giving gifts, and posing for photographs that will last a lifetime (mallatmillenia.com/events/santa-photos). A variety of photo styles and individually-priced packages are available. Guests who choose to snap their own shots are requested to make a $10 donation to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Back to School Fashion Event

The Mall at Millenia is kicking off the tax-free holiday with two fashion shows featuring the latest in back to school fashion on Saturday, August 6th

 

Two exciting runway shows featuring graduates from The Lisa Maile Fashion Camp in Grand Court will take place at 1:00 and 3:00pm showcasing fashions for children ages 6-17.

Guests are encouraged to bring donated school supply items for Coalition for the Homeless.

ORLANDO, FL – Kicking off the tax-free holiday, The Mall at Millenia will be hosting two complimentary fashion shows, featuring the latest in Back to School Fashion with models from The Lisa Maile Fashion Camp held at The Mall at Millenia.

Guests will be in for a treat as local celebrity and dynamic radio personality, Estee Martin of POWER 95.3 will host both shows. The runway shows will be full of the high-energy Estee is known for and showcase the  professionalism The Maile School is notorious for within the industry.

The fashions showcased are readily available in stores throughout The Mall at Millenia. These must-have looks will be provided by 9 featured stores, showcasing a range of affordable looks that capture the latest trends. From sporty and chic to classic and bold, these fashionable selections will provide inspiration for new looks for the coming school year. Participating stores include: Billabong, Bloomingdale’s, Buckle, GAP, Gymboree, ivivva, Janie & Jack, Lilly Pulitzer and Macy’s.  

The Tax Holiday will be in effect from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 5th through midnight on Sunday, August 7th, 2016. Tax-free items include: clothing, footwear, wallets, and bags that cost $100 or less, school supplies that cost $15 or less, and the first $750 of the cost of personal computers and related accessories.

In support of The Coalition of the Homeless, The Mall at Millenia is currently collecting new or gently used items in good condition for donation. All donations can be brought to The Mall at Millenia’s Concierge Desk. You can also bring your donated school supplies to one of the Back to School Fashion Shows. The Roman House of BVLGARI Unveils Its First Orlando Boutique

Orlando, Florida – July 14, 2016 - Bulgari, the contemporary Italian jeweler and master of colored gemstones, announces the opening of its first boutique in Orlando, Florida at The Mall At Millenia on July 21st. Following the 2014 renovation of the historical flagship on Via Condotti in Rome, the architectural concept by Peter Marino is now rolling out worldwide to key markets. The Mediterranean origins and Roman touch pervade the new 2,000 square foot Orlando boutique, to evoke the spirit of the Eternal City.

“This milestone marks a special moment for Bulgari, as it brings our Maison’s Roman roots and spirit of innovation to an important market in the Florida region,” said Daniel Paltridge, President of North America.  “We are thrilled to open our first store in Orlando in a manner that represents the modern Bulgari brand while simultaneously paying tribute to our rich Roman heritage.”

The concept expresses the use of marble and stone found in ancient Roman buildings through a classic yet modern design, and continuously interchanges between innovation and tradition. The store façade includes black grand antique marble and Travertino Navona columns that frame the entrance and two institutional cream and saffron colored windows.

Bois Jourdan marble utilized at the store’s entrance welcomes visitors and encompasses the Condotti eight point star, in red porphyry. The signature eight-point star harkens back to the first Bulgari shop opened by Sotirio Bulgari in Rome in 1884. The star is a unifying symbol found in all Bulgari boutiques worldwide, signifying Rome as the Brand’s epicenter.

The flooring features walnut star-patterned parquet with a degrade effect which simulates an atmosphere flooded by natural sunlight. The walnut wood is carefully sourced, selected and dried in direct sunlight, to be composed on site by skilled artisans to create the ‘degrade’ effect. In the central area, an oval shaped counter invites customers to browse the shop, and explore the iconic collections, while a Murano crystal chandelier by Italian artisans Vistosi illuminates the boutique.

The Condotti windows, adorned with Imperial Saffron shantung silk, serve as a reminder of the original design that is present in the historical flagship in Rome. Iconic images of celebrities decorate the walls as a tribute to the Brand’s organic relationship with Hollywood. Further enriching the shopping experience is the VIP area, which will be surrounded by a Pantheon Mesh grid whose design was inspired by the Roman Pantheon’s floor.

Bringing this stylish week to an end, after the show, guests will be able to enjoy in-store activities and shop their favorite trends to be show-ready for the weekend.

Kicking off Tax-Free Holiday with Back to School Fashion Shows

Two exciting runway shows featuring graduates from The Lisa Maile Fashion Camp in Grand Court will take place on Saturday, August 8th at 1:00 and 3:00pm showcasing fashions for children ages 6-17.

Guests are encouraged to bring donated school supply items for A Gift For Teaching.

ORLANDO, FL – Kicking off the tax-free holiday, The Mall at Millenia will be hosting two complimentary fashion shows, featuring the latest in Back to School Fashion with models from The Lisa Maile Fashion Camp held at The Mall at Millenia.

Guests will be in for a treat as local celebrity and dynamic radio personality, Estee Martin of POWER 95.3 will host both shows. The runway shows will be full of the high-energy Estee is known for and showcase the  professionalism The Maile School is notorious for within the industry.

The fashions showcased are readily available in stores throughout The Mall at Millenia. These must-have looks will be provided by 10 featured stores, showcasing a range of affordable looks that capture the latest trends. From sporty and chic to classic and bold, these fashionable selections will provide inspiration for new looks for the coming school year. Participating stores include: Billabong, Bloomingdale’s, Buckle, GAP, Gymboree, Janie & Jack, Lilly Pulitzer, Macy’s, Sanrio and Vans.  

This year there is even more time to rack up the savings. The Florida Senate passed a bill which includes an extension of the back to school holiday from three days to 10. The Tax Holiday will be in effect from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 7th through midnight on Sunday, August 16th, 2015. Tax-free items include: clothing, footwear, wallets, and bags that cost $100 or less, school supplies that cost $15 or less, and the first $750 of the cost of personal computers and related accessories.

In support of A Gift For Teaching, The Mall at Millenia is currently collecting new or gently used items in good condition for donation. All donations can be brought to The Mall at Millenia’s Concierge Desk. You can also bring your donated school supplies to one of the Back to School Fashion Shows. Items of high demand include: #2 Pencils, colored pencils, crayons, backpacks, erasers and calculators to name a few. The First and Only Under Armour Brand House in Florida

ORLANDO - The Mall at Millenia is pleased to announce the opening of the only Under Armour Brand House store in Florida. Under Armour, a world leader in athletic apparel, selected Orlando to open its ninth location.

“With only nine  Under Armour Brand House stores in the United States, we are pleased to have the only store in Florida  located at The Mall at Millenia, said Steven Jamieson, General Manager. “The addition of Under Armour adds to the exclusiveness of our center and exemplifies our relationships with global brands.”

The Under Armour Brand House store at The Mall at Millenia will offer guests the full immersion of the Under Armour brand by providing the season's newest styles and products. With over 7,000 square feet of interactive space, guests will experience innovative digital displays that that help inspire and tell the Under Armour story.

To celebrate the store opening in early June, Under Armour will be giving away a Limited Edition Under Armour “Orlando” themed Water Bottle with every purchase at the Grand Opening event.

Santa Claus, an Angel Tree, Holiday Photos, and Extended Hours Create a Festive Setting for Contributions to Community Partners

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – June 2014 – On Friday, November 7th, the Christmas adage “’tis better to give than receive” again rings true when The Mall at Millenia gives back with a host of traditional events and holiday activities that will warm hearts throughout the season. From a grand arrival worthy of a Hollywood premiere to donations to local charities, The Mall at Millenia has planned Christmas celebrations that are sure to create lasting family memories and fulfill every child’s fantasy.

As has become tradition, each holiday season The Mall at Millenia undergoes an extravagant transformation into a festive wonderland of holiday music, décor, and events. The community celebration begins with the arrival of Santa Claus whose over-the-top entrance heralds a level of holiday spirit and decorative grandeur one can only expect from this luxury retail center. At 5:30 p.m. Santa’s Spectacular Rooftop Arrival begins and at 6:45 p.m. Santa lands atop the Neiman-Marcus store where, to the echoing report of a grand fireworks display, he proclaims the start of the holiday season. Accompanied by a host of Christmas characters, Santa then makes his way to his home away from home, The Mall at Millenia’s child-friendly holiday village, Hollyville.

During Santa’s Arrival, attendees will find a variety of festivities taking place at the Mall’s main entrance. Amidst stilt walkers, magicians, elves, and strolling entertainers, holiday classics played by a DJ ring throughout the celebration as guests enjoy food and drink samples created and donated by The Mall at Millenia food court vendors and restaurants. Admission to enjoy the entertainment is complimentary while a $15 donation per family of four, with all donations benefitting Orlando’s Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is required for access to the food and drink samplings.

Also in the spirit of the season, at noon on November 7th the Salvation Army Angel Tree  begins to bloom on the second level of the Orangerie Café. Yet another way to give back to the community, during its stay through Friday, December 12th, this very special giving tree allows all shoppers to “adopt an angel” with donations creating a special holiday for local children in need.

FASHION WEEK 2014: FUSION OF CUTTING-EDGE FASHION AND WORLD-CLASS SHOPPING

Lawrence Zarian TV Personality / Lifestyle Expert returns this year to host three events. Other highlights of the week include in-store activities, fashion shows and fall collection spotlights.

ORLANDO, Fla. June 10, 2014–The Mall at Millenia is celebrating its 9th Annual Fashion Week in style from September 12th – September 18th. Central Florida’s fashion forward residents will enjoy the glamour of the international fashion world during an exciting series of events. Plus, four cutting edge fashion shows will illuminate the mall’s Grand Court with unique collections to spotlight 2014 fall trends. Fashion Week kicks off with perhaps the week’s most colorful and creative moment on Friday, September 12th at 7 p.m. when students of the International Academy of Design and Technology at Sanford-Brown College take the runway to present their personally designed and crafted 2015 Spring Trend Collections. Forbes and Taubman Announce the Signing of Macy's and Bloomingdale's at The Mall At Miami Worldcenter

The Forbes Company and Taubman Centers, Inc. (NYSE: TCO) announced today that fashion retail giant Macy's, Inc. (NYSE: M) will open full-line stores for both Macy's and Bloomingdale's at Miami Worldcenter – one of the largest mixed-use urban developments in the United States.

The Forbes Company, a nationally-recognized owner, developer and manager of distinctive regional shopping centers, and Taubman Centers, a real estate investment trust that owns, develops, acquires and operates regional shopping centers internationally, made the announcement in conjunction with Miami Worldcenter's Master Developer, Miami Worldcenter Associates. The Forbes Company will oversee the development and management of approximately 750,000 square feet of retail space as part of Miami Worldcenter's first phase, which is scheduled to break ground in the fourth quarter of 2014. Current plans call for the retail center to open late 2016.

The Mall at Miami Worldcenter will be the premier retail experience in an area of South Florida that has a large base of existing visitors and residents and is poised for significant future growth," said Nathan Forbes, managing partner of The Forbes Company. WHO: PET ALLIANCE OF GREATER ORLANDO and FRANKLIN’S FRIENDS, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote animal welfare and support animal charities in Central Florida, have partnered for Orlando’s first RUN FOR RESCUES. The human health experts at FLORIDA HOSPITAL and canine
fitness experts at SANLANDO SPRINGS ANIMAL HOSPITAL and ROCKY’s RETREAT have laced up their sneakers for the cause.

WHAT: Healthy pets and healthy people are always in fashion! The first RUN FOR RESCUES will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at THE MALL AT MILLENIA. The Pet Alliance will unveil two new animal transport vans donated by Franklin’s Friends at the start of the event. The transport vans allow Pet Alliance dogs and cats to be made available for adoption with off-site partners like Petco and PetSmart.

RUN FOR RESCUES features a timed, chipped USATF certified Fashionable 5k - for serious or casual human runners and a fun, untimed, 1 Mile Dog Jog to walk or jog with or without your dog. Prizes will be awarded to top individual and team finishers and the largest team in the Fashionable 5k. There will also be prizes for the most fashionable humans in the Fashionable 5k and the most fashionable humans and dogs in the 1 Mile Dog Jog.

A fundraising runway show hosted by TV Personality / Lifestyle Expert Lawrence Zarian is among the highlights of fashion events featuring in-store activities, fashion show and seasonal trends.

ORLANDO, Fla. August 22, 2013–The Mall at Millenia is celebrating its 8th Annual Fashion Week in style from September 12th – September 19th. This exciting event will deliver the glamour of the international fashion world to Central Florida’s fashion forward residents.  Participating retailers will feature exclusive merchandise, special promotions, and champagne receptions. Plus, four cutting edge fashion shows will illuminate the Mall’s Grand Court with unique collections to demonstrate this Fall’s most dramatic trends.  TV Personality and Lifestyle Expert Lawrence Zarian will host one of these special runway presentations with unique ready-to-wear collections from world class designers.

Tenth Anniversary Re-Merchandising Initiatives Bring Prada, YSL, Hublot, Omega, Breitling to The Mall at Millenia

World-renowned luxury brands such as Prada (coveted leather handbags, accessories and shoes), and YSL (luxurious handbags, shoes and accessories) are opening their first boutiques in Central Florida at The Mall at Millenia.  Additionally, esteemed Swiss watchmakers Hublot, Omega, and Breitling will make their Mall at Millenia debut.

Bucking a national economic trend that has slowed the development of shopping centers, an alliance between the collective retailers and The Forbes Company has advanced millions of dollars in new store construction plus enhancements, expansions, and renovations to existing stores that are part of the major re-merchandising initiative. The process began late in 2010 and will continue through 2013 as the Center is transformed to maximize the offerings of existing merchants and make way for new, in-demand retail concepts.

Among the exciting new retail experiences which have recently made their Mall at Millenia debut, shoppers will find Emporio Armani (fashion apparel, accessories and shoes), Giorgio Armani also offers its contemporary Armani designs at the new A/X Armani Exchange.   Brooks Brothers, founded in Manhattan in 1818, premiered a new store offering men’s and women’s business attire as well as casual wear. Tumi enhances the lineup with a 30-year history as the world’s leading brand of luxury travel, business and lifestyle accessories.  TAG Heuer (leader in the luxury watch market) has joined the prestigious lineup as well as Henri Bendel (NYC’s iconic playground of girls’ accessories and gifts), PINK (Victoria’s Secret’s fun and casual clothing collection), lululemon athletica (women’s and men’s technical apparel for yoga, running, dancing, and motion), Rolex (timeless luxury watches), The Art of Shaving (helping men experience the perfect shave) and Teavana (high quality teas and tea accessories for serving in style).

Several Mall at Millenia retailers have completed renovations and expansions including Louis Vuitton, which expanded to 5,000 sq. ft. allowing them to intensify their assortments and offer new product lines. Gucci followed suit with renovations to a flagship store that incorporates the latest store design and addition of children’s apparel. Further propelling the movement toward retail perfection are Burberry, Victoria’s Secret, Banana Republic, Coach, and Swarovski which created exciting new prototype stores to add energy and enjoyment to the shopping experience.  Apple, the technology phenomenon, is in the process of creating a new 11,000 square foot store to facilitate improved customer service and offer additional training and workshop programs.
