Wrapping up Your Holiday Shopping Guide

December 17, 2015

Welcome to the second installment of our holiday shopping guide. This week, we’re taking care of decorations and holiday fashion: one-stop-shopping for seasonal sparkle and cheer, here at The Mall at Millenia, Orlando.

Are you already skipping dinner for canapés and mulled wine and finding sequins all over your bedroom floor? It can only mean one thing: party season is upon us. There are a few ways to do holiday style: all-out festive glam, sparkles and all, or a subtler look that plays on your everyday style. If you’re a gal who likes glitz and glamor, this is your time of year, and Vineyard Vines has the dress for you: a fine-silk number in a timeless strapless style, in bright, festive red.

For party glamour with an edge, lace is the way to go: it’s been all over the catwalks the last few seasons, most notably at Stella McCartney and Dolce & Gabbana. Lilly Pulitzer’s Rylee shift dress in navy lace nails the look, allowing subtly tantalizing peeks of skin through a fine lace covering, but keeping the style impeccably sophisticated with scalloped edges and long, elegant sleeves. Pair with Lilly Pulitzer’s gold metallic wedges and gold jewelry for a head-to-toe holiday look.

Once your party outfits are taken care of, you can turn to decorations. Is there any greater joy in life than cranking up the carols and getting out those precious tree trimmings collected over the years? Add some festive sparkles from Swarovski and your grandchildren will be enjoying the baubles in decades to come. We love the adorable Rocking Rudolf in clear crystal. The chicest trees have personality, and that means embracing the mix-n-match aesthetic—some sparkles here, some cute animals there. You’ll find baubles to match every taste at Pottery Barn: how about a fluffy polar bear or penguin? Or a personalized tree bearing the whole family’s initials, in glitzy red or silver letters?

And why not choose this year to start another family tradition with some stockings? Line up a row of Neiman Marcus’s knit numbers over the fireplace; maybe Santa will fill yours extra full in recognition of your impeccable style. You can even have each one monogrammed.

And once all that’s done, it’s time to kick back with some eggnog and a scented candle. Might we suggest Sapin, a festive scent from the most world’s most stylish candlemakers, Parisian parfumeurs Diptyque? The Christmassy pine base is infused with a hint of mandarin, for a fresh but woody scent. Diptyque candles are available at Bloomingdale’s, here at the best of all the malls in Orlando.
